Primary Six are a hard working bunch yet we still find time to have fun and become responsible, independent young people. Numeracy. Through revision, consolidation, practical activities, games, problem solving and investigations we experience the areas of Number, Shape & Space, Data Handling & Measure. We recognise and promote the importance of Times Tables, Mental Maths and the opportunities for real life maths. 
Literacy Talking & Listening Although an important element of Literacy by its nature, it has a very cross curricular emphasis. We encourage all pupils to contribute to discussion across the curriculum and to realise that every opinion is valuable. Drama, role play, group work and assemblies all provide pupils with the opportunity to become competent, public speakers and listeners.
Reading Through our school and class libraries pupils have ready access to reading material. Through their group and class novels they have the opportunity to read further for enjoyment, comprehension and learning. Writing Through the various formats of writing pupils will put their punctuation, grammar and spelling skills into practice in either imaginative, informative or descriptive ways. 
The World Around Us. For once pupils are allowed to go Bersekers! All due to the Vikings of course. This topic is explored through in-house produced worksheets, drama, role play, debates and art. Science Through investigative, research, CD Roms, ICT, experiments and field tripsand or visitors pupils learn about and explore the topics of The Human Body and Fait Trade MusicWe have recently adopted a new scheme, Music Express which involves the children in, listening, composing, performing and appraising. Art Through the topics such as The Sea, Portraits, Vikings & Irish Artists pupils experience a range of media, artistic techniques and artists. P.E. Our active year involves: games, hockey,athletics, gymnastics, dance and swimming. I.C. T. ICT is taught in a cross curricular manner to enhance and extend our pupils' learning experiences. The skills reached in Primary Six include using digital cameras, microscopes, databases, researching on the internet and Desk Top Publishing. To measure skills levels. while present our pupils with challenges wich put their ICT knowledge to the test, we complete ICT Accrediation tasks provided by CCEA. 
R.E . Using the Alive-0 6 as our main text we explore themes such as Creation, The Church, God’s Never Ending Love, Mass and God’s family. Religion is also an excellent vehicle for examining issues such as respecting and caring for others and property, friendships and bullying.
