Project: Peas in a Pod – Time Together, Grow Together

Pond Park Nursery School (Full Time Class) and St Aloysius Nursery Unit would like to thank the Integrated Education Fund for their generous financial support for our joint project over the next two years.

Throughout this school year the children, staff and parents in both of our schools will be involved in the shared activities attached ending with a ‘Picnic in the Park’ in June 2012.

We hope that through the project, all involved – children, parents and staff, will take a step closer to building a stronger partnership within the Lisburn community - that we will  develop friendships outside of our own familiar setting and enjoy learning together.

The activities that have been planned by the staff in the two settings have been designed to allow for active participation from the children including learning opportunities across the six areas of the nursery curriculum.

Each time we meet, the children will work, play and have lunch together. We will exchange school teddies and share photographs – look in the Star for photographs as well. The staff in both schools are very excited about working together through this project. A lot of time has been spent planning the various ‘days together’. We hope that you feel as enthusiastic about it as we do.

We would really like you, the parents to join us for as many of the activities as possible. The school is not able to provide transport for the adults but I am sure we can work together and share transport to each of the schools.
